‘Potential’ is a commonly used word in education, but what does it mean for you as an NQT? What is your potential and how will you reach it? How will you know, or show, that you’ve reached your potential, and what do you do afterwards? This workshop will help you to think about what you’re working towards in your first few years as a teacher, and plan how to develop yourself so that you can reach your potential throughout your career. Includes a tool to take away and use in your Professional Development Plan.
A 1-hour workshop helping teachers to understand their potential and take steps to achieve it
The session features The Wheel of Potential – a practical tool to enable teachers to plot their current effectiveness across a range of competencies, then set targets for building those competencies over time.
Benefits of the session:-
Delivered by Baz Chapman – former Regional Director of Teaching Leaders and Director of Sing Up, the Government’s national singing programme for schools.

The afternoon session is our Keynote speaker
6’ 2” and ginger, Dave Keeling is a professional actor and has been a ‘stand-up’ educationalist (or kinaesthetic and passionate) for over 10 years working the length and breadth of the country with teachers, pupils and parents.
He is developing a particular niche working some of the most disaffected students around and immediately wins over even the most reluctant of audiences.
His Events are high on energy and entertainment value covering in a very practical and down–to-earth way a range of areas including confidence, motivation, the brain – how it works and how amazing it is, memory skills, managing change, visionary skills, improvisation, forum theatre, revision techniques, (did I mention memory
skills?) success and creativity in the classroom, not to mention a little bit of magic!!!
Having trained as a professional actor at The London Academy of Music And Dramatic Art Dave has worked extensively in theatre and television.
“David Keeling was fabulous, awe inspiring, what a livewire! We need more inspirational people like him in schools”
“Fabulous, highly motivated, cannot help but be moved by this speaker. Inspired me to make much greater effort at including fun in future lessons”
